Meet Our Owners
Meet Mary Kathryn Hulme and Hallie DuBose, the dynamic duo behind Lollibear, a sophisticated and timeless children's boutique located in downtown Sumter. Childhood friends with a shared passion for children's fashion, Mary Kathryn and Hallie drew inspiration from fond memories of shopping at a children's clothing store in Manning. They envisioned Lollibear as a haven where parents and children alike could discover unique treasures and create lasting memories.
Driven by their love for quality and attention to detail, Mary Kathryn and Hallie opened Lollibear to offer a delightful array of children's goods, ranging from clothing and shoes to accessories and toys. With a focus on specialty boutique brands and high-quality craftsmanship, they aim to provide a shopping experience unlike any other in the Sumter area.
From traditional styles to trendy ensembles, Lollibear caters to every taste and occasion, ensuring that every little one can express their unique personality through fashion. Mary Kathryn and Hallie's dedication to excellence extends beyond their product offerings; they are committed to providing exceptional service and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all who enter their boutique.
As mothers themselves, Mary Kathryn and Hallie understand the importance of finding the perfect pieces for children's wardrobes and special occasions. Their vision for Lollibear extends beyond clothing; they aspire to become a cherished destination for families, offering not only beautiful products but also a sense of joy, wonder, and community.
MEET CO-OWNER
Hallie DuBose
Hallie McNair DuBose has always had a love for clothing, but when she was expecting her first child, her love switched to children’s clothing, specifically boy’s clothing. Determined to dress her son in traditional southern style, Hallie set out to learn all the children’s lines. The knowledge she gained sparked a desire to one day open a children’s clothing store.
Hallie was born and raised in Gable, SC. She graduated from Laurence Manning Academy and the South Carolina College of Pharmacy. During her days at LMA, Hallie made many lifelong friends, one being Mary Kathryn Gatlin Hulme. Hallie and Mary Kathryn grew up having many sleepovers, beach trips, and lake days from elementary school through college. Their deep friendship has continued to strengthen through the test of time.
Hallie attends New Harmony Presbyterian Church, where she serves as treasurer of Women of the Church and a member of the Building Committee. Hallie is co-chair of the Booster Club at Laurence Manning Academy and serves on the Beautification Committee. When Hallie isn’t busy being a wife, mom, pharmacist, shop owner, or booster club co-chair, she spends time traveling and reading. Hallie is married to Steven DuBose and has two boys, Capers and Salters.
